Father John, our beloved Priest at Carmel Mission, Carmel, California, was inspired by the paintings in my 4th series and asked if we could show them in his candlelit Taizé services.

In the current political times I feel the need to say that my religion is kindness, world peace and personal freedom.

"Ribbon of Darkness" incorporates metal paints that are treated with acids which change them. The pure copper paint is transformed into a soft, greenish patina and the iron is turned to rust. The silvers are aged slightly.

My inspiration is that the Cross is partially obscured, just as our faith is mysterious and hidden from us at times. The "Ribbon of Darkness" is anything that keeps us from the light.

THANKS for visiting!

Each piece of ART is individually created with JOY and LOVE!
